Senator Iyabo Osasanjo The firm, which is linked with Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello, a daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, was reportedly awarded the contract for the construction of the 5MVA Borokiri sub-station and its three components in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, under the National Integrated Power Projects scheme in 2006. The panel is investigating how the government of Obasanjo spent about $16bn on the power sector between 1999 and 2007 without commensurate results. Although the projects were listed in the documents submitted to the House of Representatives Committee on Power and Steel by the NIPP management, its site was barren when the committee members visited the site of the project. Obasanjo-Bello had in January been accused of impersonation when it was alleged that she had, sometime in December 2005, traveled to Austria to enter into a contractual agreement in company with a Nigerian businessman, Mr. Albert Awofisayo.

Price Abubakar Audu Authorities in Bermuda are pressing ahead with money laundering charges against former Kogi state governor, Prince Abubakar Audu, according to court. The filings detail the former governor's financial involvements in the tiny Caribbean island nation, which is well known as a tax haven. Prince Audu is among Nigeria's former top public officials whose electoral petitions over the flawed April 2007 elections have been favored by one of the tribunals adjudicating in cases of electoral malpractices.
